Belgravia House Extension, London

Alongside various sensitive refurbishment works to this Grade II Listed, luxurious town house in a very exclusive part of London, Ben Reed Architects were commissioned to design an extension to the rear of the property, providing an alternative living space for the private client.

 

The concept for the design focussed on nature and creating a green oasis in the centre of this dense urban part of London. Maximum glazing ensured maximum natural light and views of the sky. We then explored various ways to introduce planting to the walls and floor to provide an internal space that has an explicit and direct connection with flora and the physical and mental health benefits that creates. The space is an internal garden that can be enjoyed all year round.
