Brixton Roof Extension and Refurb, London

Ben Reed Architects were appointed to design a second floor extension along with a full internal refurbishment of this Georgian house in South London.

 

Following established principals of complementing heritage architecture with a contemporary design that retains a subdued coexistence with the original building, Ben Reed Architects design comprised a metal cladding in a vertical batten form that is clearly modern but sits comfortably in the immediate context.
