New Rural Houses, Surrey

Planning consent had already been granted for the conversion of an existing industrial building on this rural site. With a proven track record of designing sensitive and considered buildings in complex rural locations with many site constraints, we were commissioned to design an alternative new build scheme to replace the existing structure.

 

The contemporary design developed in response to the site constraints and providing a connection with the surrounding landscape. The design is a reinterpretation of the traditional Surrey agricultural barn, referencing materials and architectural forms. The two new detached houses are positioned to maximise views, ensure privacy and ensure a harmonious relationship with the countryside.
